Sexy Fun Time (for book lovers)

Nice to know there are still plenty of books in the world. If you love to look at books--on voluminous shelving, displayed in funky store windows, as part of art exhibitions, in massive libraries, or shown off in quirky personal spaces--then head on over to Bookshelf Porn where you can peruse through hundreds of photos of books on shelves of all shapes, dimensions, and sizes.

They post one photo a day. You can see the books from famous locations such as the British Library, the Anthony Burgess Museum, and bookshops from Salem to Melbourne City.

Meanwhile, here are some photos from my own collection:

The pics of books in various settings are wonderful! :)

With the explosion of technology changing the face of publishing, I pray we don't lose the printed book forever.
That would be a tragedy beyond comprehension.

These are lovely photos.

It is great that you love books.

Liz's dad and I love books too, which is why our house is so crowded, a lifetime of taking home any book that looked interesting.

Thanks!

Sure technology is exploding, but I don't see the end of print in sight. Just more options/outlets for novels, memoirs, etc. I mean someday, yes, but not in any of our lifetimes.

There's nothing wrong with loading up the old homestead with books. I've been looking at my collection and wondering what should stay and what can go to make room for more.

Books that go: books I can get at a later time when I really want to read them, books that I can't remember the reason for having in the first place, and books I've already read that I don't need to keep.

Books that stay: rare/vintage books, autographed books, books that hold sentiment, books from/by friends, books that I may read in the next 1-5 years.
